On Thursday, June 8, 2017, ATHENA of the Triangle held the annual Celebration & Joy Event. This event was established to celebrate women business owners and their success through the ATHENA of the Triangle, ATHENA PowerLink® program. ATHENA PowerLink® is a program licensed from ATHENA International by the local chapter of ATHENA. Each year the Celebration & Joy event marks the close and beginning of a journey for the women business owners selected as participants in the ATHENA of the Triangle, ATHENA PowerLink® program. Women are selected via an application process to participate in the year long program in which they are formally mentored by a panel of experts as part of the ATHENA Powerlink program.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit, the organization relies on the generosity of it's supporters and donors. Cary Peele, Board Chair of ATHENA of the Triangle and CEO of The File Depot, presented a check for $3,000 to the organization as a donation on behalf of the Triangle Ladies Power Luncheon group.
This year, ATHENA of the Triangle celebrated the culmination of the year-long program for Carmen Ritz, owner of Carmen Ritz State Farm of Raleigh, NC. "It is just a great program. It actually blows your mind that all of these people are there to help you and support you and they are getting nothing back in return except your gratitude. This has been a life changing experience for me."
We also celebrated the start of the ATHENA PowerLink journey for the two women selected to go through the program during the 2017-18 timeframe. Julianne Walther, owner of Cary Quilting Company and Mikki Paradix, CEO and President of PDI Drywall, were announced as recipients for 2017-18.The event was hosted by Cathy Hunt, ATHENA of the Triangle board member, at the lovely law offices of Gailor and Hunt.
